Production Supervisor

Job Description

The Production Supervisor provides production with technical support, addresses and resolves immediate problems involving equipment, tooling, parts, procedures, personnel issues and quality issues. Recommends, implements, and maintains existing work methods with attention to cost down improvements. Direct and staff workforce to ensure proper utilization of manpower and equipment to ensure company objectives of safety, quality and delivery is maintained or exceeded. Recommends and/or applies disciplinary actions as required per company policy.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

• Promotes a safe, efficient, and productive work environment
• Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing daily work
• Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Background & Skills

• Associates Degree required
• 3-5 years supervisory experience
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a team in a matrix organization. 
• Global mindset and excellent communication skills to efficiently communicate across all levels in the organization. 

Preferred qualifications

• 2-4 years of electronic assembly
• Understand and apply basic Lean principles
• Experience leading cross-functional teams or projects
• Knowledge of and experience in ISO, TS16949 and/or IATF quality systems. 
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills

Job Criteria

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Must be able to understand, interpret and be involved in the collection of data to determine effectiveness of operations. 
• Excellent team leadership and development skills
• Excellent time management and project management skills to organize and plan effectively.  Must have excellent communication skills, mathematical and deductive skills
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and enjoy a fast-paced environment. 
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and work instructions. Including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from peer groups and/or customers.
