Position Description

The Department of Biology at the University of Mississippi is seeking an aquatic biologist with expertise in freshwater invertebrate ecology for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position. Applicants must pursue research and teaching interests related to freshwater invertebrate ecology, with demonstrated experience (publications, presentations, courses taught) in those areas. Areas of particular interest include the effects of invasive species in freshwater systems and/or host-parasite interactions in freshwater invertebrates. 

 

The Department of Biology is a broad-based department of 23 tenure-track and 20 instructional faculty members that educates over 900 undergraduate biology majors and more than 60 graduate students (Ph.D. and M.S.). More information about the department can be found at https://biology.olemiss.edu/.

Appointment: 9 month

Assignment Type: Tenure Track

Minimum Qualifications

●    Ph.D. from an accredited university in Biology, with a dissertation research emphasis on aquatic ecology. 
●    At least 2 years postdoctoral or other post-Ph.D. research experience relevant to the position (e.g. research assistant professor, non-academic research position).
