The Opportunity
This position works out of our Plymouth, MN location in the Electrophysiology division. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
Under direct supervision, the Production Trainer (Second Shift) performs routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes.
What You’ll Work On
- Require use of a few simple hand tools through assembling the components of products, articles and equipment.
- Activities may include repairing components using tools, following assembly instructions (e.g. schematics, wiring lists, blueprints), and conducting visual inspections.
- Escalate safety incidents or near misses within 24 hours of occurrence. Participate in brainstorming possible safety improvements to management.
- Reinforce safety policies and procedures with direct labor.
- No documented safety-related Record of Discussion
- Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Follow all required safety procedures and equipment operation procedures
- Maintain the training matrix to ensure proper ergo rotation.
- Escalation – escalate quality concerns during training process
- Maintain production MP’s and ensure they are all at the current revision (No NCMR for incorrect MP version)
- Ensure that certification & recertifications are thorough & timely (No past due trainings or recerts)
- Perform scheduled line reviews
- Line walks to ensure MPs are being followed and SFP’s filled out correctly.
- Works with leads to coordinate training activities and acts as a liaison between the new op and support staff.
- Ability to read, understand processes, and confirm critical details of the process are understood and followed by operators.
- Lead by example, mentor and coach others on the Key Behaviors (Play to Win, Transparency, Customer Focused, Ownership, Inclusive).
- Actively participate in group activities/meetings.
- Identify and give recognition to operators through Excellence Awards and recognition cards.
- Demonstrate proper work place etiquette and conflict resolution with no supervisor disciplinary involvements in the last 12 months.
- Be approachable and respectful to all operators, and support staff.
- Teamwork – adaptable to support the line as needed and act as a lead backup where required per value stream.
- Perform daily line walks to engage with operators to ensure they have the support they need in order to complete their training.
Second Shift: Monday - Thursday: 3:45PM - 2:15AM
