Job Description

Primary Function of Position

The Global Mobility Specialist is the subject matter expert in immigration and relocation programs. This role partners with external immigration counsel and relocation service providers to manage various types of mobility cases including short- and long-term assignments, group moves,

expatriate and repatriate assignments, and domestic and international relocations.  The Global Mobility Specialist understands and advises on mobility policies, laws, and practices to internal stakeholders such as Business Leaders, Human Resources, Finance, and other cross-functional teams.

Essential Job Duties

  • Primarily oversee the domestic and international mobility experience and lead or co-lead special projects in global mobility; Partner closely with employees, external providers, as well as, Global Mobility COE, Talent Acquisition, HR, Legal, Finance, Payroll, Stock, Tax, and other internal cross-functional teammates.
  • Manage global mobility requests using a case tracking system, focusing on creating good employee experiences, accurate and timely responses to stakeholders, and identifying and presenting trends.
  • Initiate, monitor and manage lifecycle of immigration and relocation for employees in partnership with external immigration counsel and relocation service providers.
  • Designated point of contact for time sensitive immigration documentation and record keeping as per government regulations.
  • Strategize long term visa sponsorship support and escalate high risk immigration cases.
  • Introduce strategies to streamline processes and transform policies.
  • Keep apprised of current mobility trends and critical updates related to government regulations and provide consultation to internal stakeholders.
  • Review vendor invoices and manage purchase order budget.
  • Generate routine mobility and data analysis reports for audits as well as compliance requirements.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience working in the field of global mobility, including vendor coordination, expense management, expatriate/repatriate assignments, and domestic and international relocation.
  • 2+ years of U.S. immigration experience at a global organization
  • Good knowledge of immigration regulations and laws.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex cases.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and being a productive team player.
  • Desire to learn new areas and skills based on rapidly changing business environment and global growth.

Preferred Skills and Experience  

  • Global Mobility Specialist Certification (GMS) or Global Mobility Specialist Certification, Talent Management (GMS-T)
