The Assistant Director for Sexual Assault Prevention within the Office of Student Wellness is charged with enhancing, promoting, and developing resources, skills, programs, and opportunities related to sexual assault prevention and education, as well as cultivating a supportive community for sexual assault survivors. This position reports to the Associate Director for Student Wellness and will work collaboratively with the Assistant Director of Mental Health Promotion and the Assistant Director for Harm Reduction within the Office of Student Wellness.The Assistant Director for Sexual Assault Prevention will lead awareness, prevention, intervention, and survivor support efforts. All education should come from a perspective that is research-based and applicable to college students. In addition to being highly collaborative and creative, the ideal candidate will also have depth of knowledge regarding peer education, sexual and interpersonal violence, and national trends regarding college sexual assault; and be able to implement best practices of public health, prevention, and health communications. The candidate should have a proven track record of developing and evaluating programs and initiatives.
This position will not be involved in the conduct process, responding to reports of sexual assault, or serving as a victim advocate.

Job Responsibilities
Create, implement, and assess comprehensive, evidence-based educational programming for sexual assault prevention that targets all students and will be grounded in a theoretical framework.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and university regulations regarding sexual assault prevention. This includes contributing to reports for the Clery Act and Title IX.
Manage the Sexual and Interpersonal Violence Education and Outreach (SIVEO) Suite; which includes the victim advocate office, student worker/internship office, and the survivor wellness room.
Partner with and co-develop priorities for the community victim advocate.
Coordinate and implement sexual assault prevention and consent programs ranging in size from small group workshops, large campus-wide events, and off campus initiatives. Examples include: understanding consent, sexual boundaries, communication, stalking, dating and partner violence, healthy relationships, trafficking awareness, how to support a friend, myth busting, etc.
Advance peer education and student employment by advising a peer education team of undergraduate students.
Create and sustain a survivor support community and coordination of related services. Collaborate as needed with the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Students.
Develop, implement, and evaluate an ongoing awareness campaign and related programming across campus for sexual and interpersonal violence and survivor support for Miami University students.
Engage community resources to support students; particularly to secure an on-campus victim advocate within the SIVEO Suite.
Serve on and/or chair departmental, divisional, or institutional committees, particularly those pertaining to sexual and interpersonal violence (e.g., Comprehensive Coordinated Response Team).
Strategically collaborate with departments across campus, especially faculty, Office of Community Standards, Student Engagement and Leadership, InterCollegiate Athletics, Residence Life, and Office of the Dean of Students.
Support assessment efforts pertaining to sexual assault prevention efforts. This includes monitoring national trends, collecting and reporting data from programming or institutional sources, and using this data to inform programming with measurable objectives.
Provide consultation and training to student organizations and divisional staff development related to sexual assault prevention and healthy relationships.
