VP of Finance

As our VP of Finance, you will be responsible for the full finance team, operations and reporting. Furthermore you will be driving automation of our Finance processes and work closely with our executive board to help us scale to the next level. Although you will be working for our Amsterdam office, we are a remote-friendly company! This means you can work from home within the Netherlands whenever you want. You can also join your colleagues in our Amsterdam office in the heart of the city with a beautiful sunny roof terrace. It is completely up to you! 

What this role looks like

As our VP of Finance, you will oversee the full finance operations & reporting, including FP&A. Our primary objective is to bring our finance department to the next level. We aim to achieve this by focusing on financial analysis, exploring various financial ratios, regions, sections, and core SaaS metrics & KPIs. Your expertise and insights will be instrumental in shaping our path forward and driving the company's financial success. You will be the key player in driving process improvements and automation initiatives. 

You will have 2 direct reports, the Finance Manager and the Financial Controller. You will report directly to our CEO Paul Braam.

Your key tasks

• Financial Leadership: Assume overall responsibility for the finance function, guiding and directing the team to achieve financial goals and objectives;

• Financial Planning & Analysis: Oversee FP&A activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling, to ensure accurate financial insights are provided to support strategic decision-making;

• Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, preparing financial statements, analyzing variances, and presenting financial performance to key stakeholders;

• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and compliance standards. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to mitigate financial risks;

• Strategic Guidance: Collaborate with the executive team to provide financial insights and recommendations, contributing to the development and execution of the company's strategic initiatives;

• Investor Relations: Engage with investors and analysts, providing them with transparent and reliable financial information about the company's performance;

• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring professional growth for team members;

• Process improvements and automation: Collaborate closely with our FinOps and IT teams to ensure a highly scalable and accurate financial IT-landscape. 

Requirements

What you will bring to the Finance Team

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field;

• Experience in overseeing and directing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes;

• Proficiency in analyzing financial data, identifying trends, and translating complex financial information into actionable insights for strategic decision-making;

• Proven expertise in managing financial reporting processes;

• Ability to collaborate effectively with the executive team, providing valuable financial insights and recommendations that contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives;

• Previous experience engaging with investors, analysts, and external stakeholders to provide transparent and reliable financial information about the company's performance;

• Proven track record in driving process improvements and automation initiatives;

• Proven ability to operate and succeed within a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities;

• Proficient in English;

• Experience with ERP systems - experience with our systems is a big advantage (Netsuite, Salesforce, Stripe);
