Kentro is seeking a Business & Budget Analyst to support a DOD SOCOM EDAT program. This role combines business analysis and budget/financial management responsibilities to ensure mission success through informed decision-making and efficient resource allocation. The ideal candidate will analyze business processes and financial data, develop data-driven recommendations, and provide analytical and administrative support for both operational and fiscal activities.
Responsibilities:
Business Analysis (50%)
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business and technical requirements.
- Evaluate current business processes, identify gaps, and recommend process improvements or automation.
- Support project management activities including meeting coordination, agenda development, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain business process documentation, use cases, and reports.
- Partner with technical teams to ensure business needs are clearly translated into system and software solutions.
Budget and Finance (50%)
- Support budget formulation, execution, and tracking for program and project funding.
- Assist in preparing spend plans, financial forecasts, and budget justifications.
- Monitor and reconcile project expenses, obligations, and expenditures.
- Develop financial reports and dashboards to support leadership decision-making.
- Coordinate with program management to ensure compliance with government fiscal policies and funding timelines.
- Identify financial risks, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Location: On-site in Tampa, FL
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of combined experience in business analysis and/or financial management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and standard business analysis tools (JIRA, Confluence, Visio).
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Advanced Excel skills, including:
- PivotTables
- VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
- INDEX/MATCH
- Power Query
- Macros and VBA (preferred)
- Data visualization using charts and conditional formatting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Familiarity with SQL or other data querying languages is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in financial modeling or operational analysis.
- Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) is a plus.
Clearance Requirement:
- Active DoD Secret clearance (minimum)
