JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY -- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
The Avionics Field Engineer is responsible for hands-on maintenance support, repair and modification of Electronic Warfare and RADAR aircraft related system and subsystems, to include platform integration, and assist with T&E development projects for Department of Defense (DoD) manned and unmanned aircraft. Some of the assigned duties include: sustainment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of end items and Line Repairable Units down to the component level.Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
- Conduct research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers in obtaining technical information
- Keep informed of and study currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to engineering specialty
- Perform engineering or other highly technical tasks that are varied and may be somewhat difficult in character
- Plan and carry out successive engineering steps and resolve technical problems by standard practices and techniques, such as tolerance studies and design calculations
- Support projects with limited scope or parts of more complex projects with detailed instructions on the intent and scope of the documents to be prepared
- Generate sections of design specifications of more complex projects or complete specifications of less complex projects
- Using computer-assisted test methods, conduct laboratory investigations on equipment or systems
- Assist in preparation of reports, correspondence, or technical studies
- Prepare, deliver, and submit technical presentations for in-process design and review meetings
- Have familiarization with Electronic Warfare, Electronic Countermeasures, and RADAR
- Airborne systems theory, concepts, and practical applications.
- Perform installation, inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, configurations, operations, and test of various technical systems in accordance with established operating procedures to ensure safety of flight
- Uses common and complex test instruments: digital multi-meters, signal generators, oscilloscopes, high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment
- Applies some advanced technical knowledge of schematics and diagrams to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely be referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- An Associate's degree or high school diploma with relevant military and/or
- vocational technical school curriculum in a relevant career field.
- Avionics operations with 5 years of military aircraft related experience.
- Highly motivated technician with experience maintaining military aircraft avionics systems.
- Knowledge of ECM, RADAR, Power distribution, Avionics Software, and aircraft
- wiring standards.
- Expertise and experience in: RADAR, ECM, Power distribution, Avionics
- Software, and aircraft wiring standards.
- Knowledge of and ability to understand OEM Wiring Diagrams and schematics.
- Experience in inspection, repair, and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment
- Ability to understand and adhere to FAA, AFOSH, OSHA, and/or USAF equivalent aviation maintenance standards
- Current TS Clearance
