Job Description Qualifications:

An exciting opportunity has become available to join Boeing Poland as a Senior Manager (L) Software Development based in Gdansk, Poland for the Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) organization.

Position overview:

We are a product led analytics group within BDS transforming the way business is run using artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI&ML). We are a dynamic team of data scientists, data engineers, and software developers solving many challenges and puzzles of our rapidly evolving technical stack.

We’re seeking a senior manager – software development who is ready to lead a team of full stack software developers and data engineers working with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking group that’s always pushing boundaries. This person will have complete, end-to-end ownership of one or more software products. The ideal candidate has experience leading a software development team with direct reports, has experience building products across the stack and a firm understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back-end languages. The senior manager will join a small team that uses new technologies, tools, and capabilities to solve challenges for both the front-end and back-end architecture, ultimately delivering great products for our users.

As a senior manager, the job holder will join the BDS Analytics Poland team consisting of highly skilled, high performing team members supporting multiple product lines across Boeing and you'll have the opportunity to be on the forefront of driving a major transformation within BDS.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead a portfolio of diverse software products and a team of developers with deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems to create solutions that help our BDS business.

• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with, and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community, and from time to time, be asked to code or evaluate code.

• Collaborate with digital product managers and deliver robust cloud-based solutions that drive powerful experiences to help our users in manufacturing, quality, operations, and supply chain.

• Utilize programming languages like JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Node.js and Go, Open-Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, tools such as Github and a variety of AWS tools and services.

• Utilize all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment.

• Collaborate and work closely with BDS leadership across different divisions and functions to pain points and challenges and devise software solutions to address the problems.

• Motivate, mentor, coach, and train and cultivate a positive team culture.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent in computer science or related field.

• At least 8 years of experience in software development.

• 1+ year experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

• At least 3 years of people management experience.

• Existing rights to work in Poland.

• English language level – intermediate or higher.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree.

• 8+ years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go.

• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.

• 3+ years’ experience with Distributed data/computing tools (EMR, Kafka, Spark).

• 4+ year experience working on real-time data and streaming applications.

• 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.

• 5+ years of people management experience.

• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices.
