Role+Responsibilities
Forberg Smith, a manufacturer's representative partner of Endress + Hauser Inc. is seeking an ambitious, self-motivated individual for a Service Technician position to join their team in the Menomonee Falls, WI area. This position entails both in-house repairs as well as travel to their varied customer sites (including power, energy, process, chemical, manufacturing, life sciences, pharma, food and beverage, and commercial) in Menomonee and Milwaukee, WI areas to perform calibration, installation, troubleshoot and repair of the various instrumentation lines based on the manufacturer’s specifications.

Field service experience
-
Experience with industrial instrumentation products (level, pressure, temperature, flow instrumentation, control valves, manual on/off valves, pneumatic control components, safety systems and gas and liquid analytical instruments) preferred.

Computer skills with Windows10 applications like Rslogix5000, Maximo, Fieldcare, Pactware, Fieldmate, Prolink, Excel, Outlook, and service applications involving digital communications preferred.

Knowledge of software-based hand tools in the industry.

Maintenance database programs, Work Order Generation and Work Order Updates and Knowledge of basic PLC and control system design and wiring.

Confident to learn and understand operational principles of control systems, instrumentation to be serviced and maintained and ability to explain to the customer.

Willingness to learn new software programs, instrumentation configuration, and new technologies.

Work well with others and ability to explain your work and/or train them on your efforts.

Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills and excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Able to carry 10-30 lbs. of tools up and down stairs/ladders, multiple times per day, lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.

Walk several miles per day on concrete, stand, squat as required to reach devices

Able to hear plant alarms, equipment condition, and to receive oral instructions.

Able to see to determine plant operating conditions and to avoid safety hazards.
Qualification+Profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Field Service Experience
- Knowledge of software-based hand tools in the industry
- Basic PLC and control system design and wiring
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Office. Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Excellent work ethic, good verbal, time management and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and through the direction of a Networking & Services Manager. Work well with others, and ability to explain your work and/or train them on your efforts
- Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization. Know when to request assistance when appropriate, especially when lifting heavy objects
