Deputy Chief Information Security Officer
SailPoint’s Cybersecurity organization is seeking a leader with a passion for cybersecurity and protecting the organization. The successful candidate will serve as our Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (DCISO) and help lead our full portfolio of security activities, ranging from product security to security operations to security engineering and beyond.
We’re seeking a leader with proven technical capabilities who also has experience leading people and teams and is accustomed to achieving objectives through the leadership of others. They’ll embrace the opportunity to work across diverse portfolio with a variety of resources and will play a key role as we continually improve our capabilities over time. They’ll help shape our strategy and future in collaboration with the rest of the cyber leadership team and will work through all dimensions of cybersecurity – people, process, and technology – to achieve our objectives.
Our new DCISO will join an existing, capable team of both emerging and established talent. They’ll have the opportunity to shape our future through process and technology optimization, capability acquisition and development, and maturation of our existing activities. They’ll already be comfortable with the 4 I’s at SailPoint (individual, Impact, Innovation, and Integrity) even if they’re new to the concept. They will embrace new challenges and will be a positive contributor to an already positive work culture and environment.
This is a challenging and impactful role where you will have the opportunity to work with both internal and external stakeholders, drive the continuous improvements of our security program, contribute meaningfully to the security of the global cyber ecosystem, and serve as an ambassador for SailPoint to our customers and the public.
This role reports directly to the CISO and can be remote or based in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities:
Lead a diverse set of teams across the SailPoint cybersecurity portfolio to support the security of SailPoint products, customers, and enterprise. Provide programmatic leadership, technical guidance, and professional development support and career guidance.
Build coalitions across SailPoint and partner closely with colleagues to pursue strategic and tactical objectives that support the mission of cybersecurity.
Provide technical acumen relevant to our products and enterprise to guide technical decisions, tactics and strategies.
Build relationships across organizational boundaries to ensure the smooth functioning of critical activities during moments of crisis.
Build and manage an excellent team of leaders and individual contributors. Support them throughout their tenure as SailPoint crew members. Foster a culture of innovation and inclusivity.
Help shape the strategic direction of SailPoint cybersecurity by ensuring the coordination across business units and teams.
Communicate clearly, concisely, and timely to a variety of stakeholders, including customers, on both urgent and routine matters.
Help build the SailPoint brand through outreach and ambassadorship activities.
Serves as the senior escalation point for cybersecurity issues alongside the CISO.
Be available for occasional escalations after hours and on-call pager duty.
Requirements:
Meet FedRAMP access requirements.
10+ years of work experience in cybersecurity, including at least 3 years in leadership roles.
Excellent leadership skills, accomplishing complex tasks and objectives through collaboration with and management of others.
A thorough understanding of complex enterprise systems. Use knowledge of the current IT environment and industry trends to identify issues.
Top notch written and verbal communication skills in communications with subordinates, peers, and leadership.
Analytical expertise, close attention to detail, critical thinking, logic, a solution orientation and an ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Experience creating and maintaining a staffing strategy, efficient assignment of responsibilities, and regular metrics/reporting.
Complex decision-making skills, with an ability to clearly convey the relative costs and benefits of potential actions and a recommendation.
Experience innovating to find creative solutions that balance the needs of the business with the needs of security.
Preferred:
Experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks such as FedRAMP, ISO27001, SOC2, SOX, GDPR.
