FLSA STATUS: Salaried Exempt
SALARY: $100,000 - $118,000

Position Overview
This position will support multiple Club locations to ensure Club operations are safe, sustainable and performing to a high standard to support all youth. As the Area Director, you will partner with internal leaders to ensure program capacity is being met, youth and family experiences are high and ensure staff are being coached and developed as strong leaders within Boys & Girls Clubs of King County. As a senior leader within the organization, you will be responsible for strategic growth within your Clubs and surrounding communities and develop policies and procedures to increase the optimal Club experience for our members.
The Area Director will work closely with the Chief of Staff and Resource Development team to ensure the organization’s mission and vision is being communicated and lived within the communities we serve. This will happen within the Club Advisory Boards and external stakeholders.
This person is someone with high emotional intelligence who is able to connect internally with both staff and Club youth and externally with families and community leaders. This candidate will have experience with youth development principles, staff coaching and developing, creating strategic vision and goals and community engagement. This person will have a coaching mindset that will empower and develop leaders within our organization.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Club Operations:

Ensure all Clubs are safe, well-maintained and are in alignment with BGCKC and DCYF standards.

Directly support Operations Directors by providing adequate support, coaching, feedback, supervision, and guidance for their Clubs.

Have a physical presence at each Club to offer immediate guidance and hands-on coaching.

Coach Operations Directors to be proactive problem solvers for their Clubs.

Work to increase overall organization capacity that aligns with the goals and vision of BGCKC.

Provide guidance to Operations Directors with facility and vehicle maintenance, if needed.

Ensure accurate membership registration procedures and program attendance tracking throughout all Clubs.

Work collaboratively with internal department leaders to ensure Club teams meet BGCKC’s high quality standards of programs.

Ensure all staff, volunteers, and other individuals follow BGCKC protocol and procedures.

Guide the hiring, training, development and evaluation of program staff.
Fiscal Responsibility:

Assist in organization budget development; monitor and report variances in revenues and expenditures.

Ensures grant requirements are met, and related evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
Resource Development:

Support Resource Development with events, grants and donor stewardship/cultivation.

Maintain a strong relationship with Club Advisory Board Members.
Additional Responsibilities:

Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for staff, youth, families and community members.

Develop authentic relationships with external stakeholders including government, school district, community leaders, donors, families, volunteers and other key stakeholders.

Support and encourage a culture that emphasizes continuous quality improvement.

Complete tasks accurately in a timely manner and by the deadline.

Represent BGCKC at various community events.

Other duties as requested by the CPOO.
Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.

A minimum of five years of previous supervisory
