Who you are

We are seeking an experienced controller to oversee all accounting functions with a background in revenue recognition, GAAP compliance standards (ASC 606, CECL ASC 326), and the development and maintenance of accounting controls and procedures. You will have a deep understanding of accounting in the SaaS industry. This role will report to the Vice President of Finance and has several direct reports

What you’ll do

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Provide insights and analysis to senior management to support strategic decision-making.

• GAAP Audit Management: Manage and coordinate external audits, ensuring all financial statements and disclosures comply with GAAP. Act as the primary liaison between auditors and internal teams.

• Revenue Recognition: Ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with ASC 606. Analyze complex revenue transactions and implement effective revenue recognition policies.

• Accounting Controls and Procedures: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Familiarity with ASC 326 (CECL): Oversee the implementation and maintenance of CECL requirements if needed. Ensure accurate estimation of credit losses and compliance with the latest accounting standards.

• Expense Creation and Management: Oversee the creation, approval, and monitoring of expense processes. Ensure that all expenses are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies.

• Dynamic Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Provide guidance on complex accounting issues and professional development.

Your skills and experience

• Seven or more years of professional accounting experience, with previous exposure to leading a team, ideally within a SaaS environemnt

• Previous experience as a Controller.

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Accounting, or related field.

• Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant) strongly preferred

• Sage Intacct experience is highly preferred
