Position Requirements 


Current eligibility for or possession of a Virginia Teaching License with an endorsement in Special Education (specific disability categories are accepted) and Administration & Supervision 


Minimum of a Master’s degree in Special Education or Administration & Supervision 


Minimum of 3 years of prior administrative experience 


Experience teaching and working with at-risk adolescents and students in a therapeutic setting preferred 


Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills 


Knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, behavioral management, assessment, and educational compliance 


Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing 


Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 


Provide administrative oversight for the Dominion Academy Therapeutic Day School program 


Ensure compliance with State and Federal Special Education Regulations and curriculum standards 


Supervise and evaluate instructors and school staff to ensure effective implementation of curriculum and instructional practices 


Lead and support professional development opportunities for staff 


Promote a positive, safe, and therapeutic school culture 


Collaborate with teachers, parents, students, and community stakeholders to support student success 


Support students in achieving academic, emotional, and behavioral goals 


Monitor school policies related to attendance, discipline, and dress code 


Coordinate emergency management procedures and day-to-day school operations 


Assist with budgeting, grant proposals, and allocation of school resources 


Maintain accurate reporting, documentation, and administrative records 


Develop and implement school procedures and operational guidelines
