Job Description:
Student workers in the Medical Humanities Program are an integral part of our team and serve as ambassadors for our program. Knowledge of the Medical Humanities Program is an important part of this position. The office assistant serves the many constituents of the Medical Humanities Program including current & prospective students, faculty, staff, university administrators, and community health care professionals. Skillful use of social media platforms, phone, email, and personal interaction are essential. A well-groomed, professional appearance is required. Applicants should be dependable, organized, creative, and demonstrate initiative. Applicants must be a Medical Humanities major or minor to be considered. Keeping records and conversations within the Medical Humanities Program confidential is an essential and crucial aspect of the position.
Job Duties:
Greet and provide information, support, and assistance to students, faculty, and others visiting the Medical Humanities office
Perform daily administrative and office tasks (answering the phone, copying/scanning, restocking office supplies, coffee cart, drinks, etc., and maintaining the office)
Provide course support for faculty as needed (i.e. entering grades/attendance in Canvas, making copies, scanning, etc.)
Meet with prospective students
Correspond with alumni, current and prospective students, and other constituents via telephone, virtual call, email, etc.
Use Canva to create graphic design elements for event and course description flyers
Assist social media manager with content and photos
Write material for the website, promotional packets, and other compilations
Assist with various events, activities, and projects as assigned
Maintain files and reports and ensure confidentiality of information
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance

- Greet clients and visitors with excellent customer service; answer inquiries and provide information
