As a 401(k) Plan Services Specialist you have the opportunity to apply your problem solving and technical skills to customers’ employer sponsored retirement plans. As part of our 401(k) professional team you will provide solutions to customers’ administrative and annual compliance needs by providing effective analysis, reporting and communication. What You’ll Do

You’ll complete a variety of 401(k) plan administrative services, with an emphasis on annual compliance testing and reporting relating to 401(k) plans:

  • Complete plan year-end reviews, compliance testing and reporting.  
  • Prepare 5500 and 8955-SSA forms and related reports.
  • Calculate employer contributions and processing plan forfeitures, contributions, allocations, and any corrective distributions.
  • Verify participant eligibility, service, and contributions.
  • Effectively communicate with both internal and external customers regarding plan administration, based on the provisions of the plan document and related guidance under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) and ERISA.
  • Participate in process improvements and testing related to administration systems.
  • Assist with:
    • Staff training and procedure development.
    • Preparation of plan amendments, in support of Document Technicians.
    • Reconciling information from other provides for takeover 401(k) plans.

What it Takes   

  • Associate Degree or equivalent work experience required (Bachelor Degree preferred)
  • Knowledge of administrative systems and/or software applications
  • Math, accounting, and computer aptitude
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and handle several projects simultaneously
  • Analytical ability in order to solve technical problems and analyze contracts and documents
  • Prior retirement plan experience and knowledge of related laws and regulations preferred
  • Knowledge of IRC, Department of Labor (DOL) rules, and related regulations helpful
  • Educational courses such as CEBS or ASPA would be highly beneficial
