Work Study - Federal (Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science)

About the role

Work-study positions are federally funded, part-time positions. These positions are generally located on campus, but may be located off campus. Positions are available for general office/clerical, maintenance, and preschool. All positions will require customer service. Some positions may also require clerical, computing, telephone, and filing skills. Each position will have a specific set of responsibilities that will be explained during the interview process.

At the Hamilton County Campus, the Work Study will work with instructors to maintain and support equipment and machines. Assemble, install, and test equipment used in the lab. Perform quality control checks and troubleshoot any device malfunctions. Ability to work as a team member as well as independently. Provide technical support to students and instructors when required. Use bandsaw for material cutting.

  • Familiarity with various welding machines and bandsaws.  
  • Good weld equipment troubleshooting skills.  
  • Ability to lift and move up to 75 pounds.  
  • Good knowledge of SMAW, GMAW, and GTAW welding processes. 
  • Familiarity with Carpentry Tools and Materials.
  • Familiarity with Electrical Tools and Materials.

Hourly pay is $15.00.

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Student must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
  • Student must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by the financial aid office.
  • Student must have a current FAFSA on file.
  • Student must have financial need, as determined by the financial aid office.
  • Position requires sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the College students and employees.
  • Fully supports the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives.
