Description
For over 60 years, CareLink Community Support Services has been dedicated to helping people with disabilities to live in the community with dignity and independence. Our rehabilitation services and professional staff provide the support that people with serious mental illness, physical disabilities and other developmental challenges need to be active, productive members of their communities.
About the Role:
This professional position is responsible for the oversight and management of a group of CareLink programs, grouped by geographical and/or functional similarity. Regional Directors are instrumental in the implementation of agency mission, values and goals. Individuals working in this capacity are accountable for staff supervision, implementing quality rehabilitative programming and insuring the health and welfare of clients. Regional Directors are part of the Management Team and work closely with CareLink administration to implement agency policies, procedures, and standards of care. The primary means of achieving these goals is through supervision of the program supervisors of the individual programs within their region
What You’ll Do:
- Participate in achievement of agency goals, objectives and mission by fostering the principles and values of psychosocial rehabilitation.
- Report all relevant problems and changes to the Clinical Director, or other appropriate CareLink administrative personnel.
- Oversee referrals to the programs.
- Design and implement services to meet consumer needs.
- Provide leadership, instructions, suggestions, and discipline as appropriate.
- Conduct staff meetings on a regular basis.
- Ensure that each program/site is in full compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.
- Ensure that each program site is well maintained.
- Monitor and sign off on all incident reports as needed.
- Handle liaison responsibilities with appropriate referral and regulatory entities.
- Organize on-call coverage rotation.
- Provide back-up on-call coverage and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Arrange for alternate coverage when unavailable.
- Contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement meetings.
- Contribute to agency training schedule.
- Receive and participate in supervision on an on-going basis.
- Follow instructions accurately and thoroughly.
- Complete assigned tasks and documentation within designated time frames.
- Attend and participate in agency events.
- Participate actively in quality improvement efforts, including an emphasis upon consumer and family satisfaction.
- Maintain positive leadership role and maintain professional demeanor.
- Display motivation, interest and initiative in working creatively with people with mental illness and/or other disabilities.
- Demonstrate the ability to make sound judgements regarding staff and clients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic principles and methods of rehabilitation.
- Cooperate with other staff and work as part of a team.
- Exhibit positive attitude toward staff, guests, position and agency.
- Coordinate staff time-off, scheduling, hiring, and time-reporting with Human Resources Department.
- Oversee the processing of all necessary paperwork related to client’s program status, including admission and discharge information.
- Facilitate the communication of information between line staff and management personnel.
- Monitor overall regional program expenses.
- Participate in the development of budgets for each program under his/her jurisdiction.
- Monitor program expenditures according to budget.
- Prepare monthly billing reports if indicated.
- Develop and oversee the department budget. (Management and Directors only)
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
Supervisory Role:
- Appropriately supervise all program supervisors and other designated staff, students and volunteers.
- Provide a thorough and timely orientation to each new program supervisor.
- Establish and assign goals and tasks for program supervisors.
- Monitor client charts on a continual basis to ensure that all treatment plans, progress notes and other materials are current.
- Participate in the development and training of employees to improve their work quality and job knowledge.
- Prepare and administer staff introductory and annual performance evaluations accurately, fairly and on time.
