Title: Practice Director, Workplace Wellness
Type: Full-Time
Reports to: Chief Growth Officer
Office Location: 224 W Hill Street, Suite 410, Chicago, IL; required in-office minimum of 3 days per week (hybrid work policy subject to change)

Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Practice Director to lead our Workplace Wellness program. This leadership role combines strategic oversight, program development, and wellness expertise, and requires an individual who can both manage a high-performing team and drive the growth and effectiveness of our workplace wellness practice for nonprofit, government, and corporate clients. The Practice Director will be responsible for acting as a subject matter expert on mental health and wellness topics, overseeing the development and execution of workplace wellness training and consulting activities, while ensuring the practice adheres to ethical, legal, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the vision, strategy, and objectives for the workplace wellness practice, ensuring alignment with NAMI Chicago’s mission to increase help-seeking, reduce mental health stigma, and raise awareness of mental health trends.
- Ensure the vision, strategy, and objectives for workplace wellness meet best practices in organizational wellness.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of wellness professionals, consultants, and trainers, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and high performance.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends in workplace wellness, mental health support, and organizational dynamics to drive innovation and improvements in the practice’s offerings.
Wellness Program Development & Delivery:
- Oversee the development and delivery of evidence-based wellness programs that address mental health, stress management, resilience building, work-life balance, and employee assistance.
- Ensure that wellness programs are grounded in best practices and reflect a holistic approach to physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Develop and lead workshops, training sessions, and seminars on wellness topics for employees, managers, and leadership teams, both in-person and virtually.
Client Engagement & Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strong relationships with key organizational stakeholders to ensure wellness and mental health needs are met, and that the practice is aligned with client priorities.
- Provide expert consulting to senior leaders on the design, implementation, and evaluation of wellness programs tailored to their unique organizational culture and needs.
- Serve as the primary contact for high-level clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery, client satisfaction, and retention.
Program Oversight & Compliance:
- Ensure all wellness services and interventions adhere to ethical guidelines, legal regulations, and professional standards.
- Monitor program outcomes and efficacy, using data to inform improvements and ensure the best possible outcomes for both employees and employers.
- Oversee the evaluation of employee satisfaction and effectiveness of wellness initiatives, using feedback to refine and optimize offerings.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development to practice staff, ensuring that they receive ongoing support, training, and career growth opportunities.
- Manage the hiring, training, and performance evaluation of new staff members, promoting continuous learning and development.
- Foster an environment of psychological safety and well-being within the team, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
Business Development & Growth:
- Identify new business opportunities and drive growth by securing new clients, expanding service offerings, and enhancing the firm’s reputation as a leader in workplace wellness.
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and service offerings that meet client needs and align with best practices in workplace wellness.
