Description
SUMMARY:
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for assisting the Acuity leadership team to strengthen employee engagement and implement turnover reduction strategies. Strategies will include helping operational leaders develop effective onboarding for employees. An additional area of focus will be to enhance the leadership skills of the company’s leaders through a variety of methods including 1:1 coaching and group training.

- Build, implement, and lead a monthly Acuity orientation session for all new team members.
- Partner with operational leaders to develop written onboarding templates and checklists.
- Assist HR leaders with designing and implementing employee engagement surveys and lead action planning efforts with leaders.
- Provide monthly turnover analysis and establish regular cadence to communicate results.
- Partner with HR leaders to implement turnover reduction strategies including stay interviews, focus groups, and other methods.
- Handles employee issues in collaboration with HR leadership and Legal as needed.
- Design and implement team building sessions for operational leaders and teams.
- Assist with developing and delivering training sessions for leaders.
- Analyzes new hire and exit interview results and proposes engagement improvement strategies.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to company leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Maintains strict employee privacy and confidentiality when dealing with employee information.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations; stays current with HR regulations.
- Keeps commitments and keeps direct supervisor informed of work progress, timetables, and issues.
- Maintains strict compliance with State, Federal and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, WC, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL, HR policies and practices).
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; minimum 5-7 years of related HR business partner or employee relations work experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Working knowledge of the human resource disciplines.
DESIRABLE:
- HR experience in the healthcare or ophthalmology industry.
CERTIFICATES/LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:
- PHR or SPHR Certification a plus.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES/TALENTS:
- Broad HR knowledge and expertise.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
- Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
