Mulch & Snow Sales Associate / Field Operations Lead

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Mulch & Snow Sales Associate to drive both sales and operations for our mulch/landscape products and snow removal services. This role combines inside/outside sales, customer relationship management, and field operations leadership—making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, teamwork, and direct impact on business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of our mulch, landscape, and snow removal product lines and services.
• Build and maintain customer relationships through exceptional service, timely communication, and contract follow-up.
• Drive inside and outside sales of mulch, landscaping materials, and snow services, including contract generation and renewals.
• Oversee and support field operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality snow removal services.
• Serve as Yard Attendant as needed: greet customers, answer phones/emails, load/unload trucks and trailers, and process sales transactions.
• Prepare invoices, coordinate deliveries, and assist with scheduling in collaboration with accounting.
• Operate equipment (skid steer, water truck, etc.) and ensure yard maintenance.
• Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and service delivery.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support sales and operations.

Essential Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Minimum 1 year of recent outdoor work experience (landscape center, nursery, farm, or snow services preferred).
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR and reliable transportation.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, dust, snow).
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. safely.
• Strong communication skills and ability to read maps/directions.

Desired Qualifications

• 2–4-year degree in a related field, or equivalent experience in landscaping/sales.
• Proven ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Previous sales experience with strong customer service orientation.
• Ability to drive company trucks (CDL preferred).
• Equipment operation experience (skid steer, plow truck, etc.).
• Flexible to work extended hours during peak seasonal needs.
• Strong math skills and ability to handle transactions accurately.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, and operate equipment.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs. frequently.
• Outdoor environment with exposure to weather, dust, loud equipment, and occasional airborne particles.
• Conditions may vary by site and season.
