Senior Data Scientist (Remote)

Who we need:

A Senior Data Scientist responsible for ap health service research methodologies to support goals and objectives. Assist staff in conducting investigative work, collecting, and analyzing data, applying the science of epidemiology to enhance the output of our clinical decision-making tools. Responsibilities include providing and supporting analyses, decisions, and recommendations for complex issues; and providing scientific and technical knowledge in evaluating programs designed to measure the success of cooperative projects.

What you’ll do:

• Cooperative project design, assisting in the identification of areas worthy of study and in the calculation of appropriate sample sizes.
• Assist Acentra staff, consultants, and biostatisticians in conduction of investigative work, analyzing and reporting the results of case review and pattern analysis of claims data to serve the educational needs of the physician, provider, and beneficiary communities.
• Assist in designing follow-up evaluation mechanisms to measure the success of cooperative projects.
• Assist in the design and production (writing) of feedback reports and other publishable documents.
• Review all literature to assist in designing interventions, feedback tools and data collection instruments.
• Develop affiliations with health services researchers to enhance Acentra’s competitiveness for available grants and its reputation as a contributor to scientific literature.
• Promote and maintain professional inter/intradepartmental relationships within Acentra as well as will all external customers.

What you’ll need:

Required Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Epidemiology or related field

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong communication, quantitative, business and computer skills, knowledge of SAS, SPSS, and Access highly desirable, ability function compatibly with team members of diverse clinical and experiential backgrounds essential. Knowledge of healthcare and related issues. Knowledge of quality project methodologies desirable.

Experience

• Statistics or Health Service Research and/or significant experience.
