Airbnb is looking for an experienced strategic finance & analytics professional to support our emerging Experiences and Guest Services category. This team is responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities to grow beyond our core stays business by conceiving, developing, and incubating new services for our guests.

The Difference You Will Make

The Principal will be highly visible to senior leadership and will be a key day to day finance partner to the business leads for Experiences and Guest Services. This role will  partner with business leaders in driving business outcomes and growth through influencing skills and strategic analyses, informing commercial considerations, prioritization of initiatives, efficient allocation of resources, and overall provide actionable insights that drive business impact.

The Principal is expected to be an experienced cross-functional financial business partner who has a combination of hands-on analytical skills, financial modeling expertise, business savviness, the ability to package their insights into strong narratives appropriate for senior executive consumption, and demonstrated leadership experience in leading diverse global teams in service to executive business partners. The ideal candidate relishes the opportunity to roll-up their sleeves to drive meaningful impact, possess strong stakeholder management skills, and is a self-starter that is comfortable with ambiguity in a fast paced work environment.

A Typical Day

• Develop insightful recommendations based on hands-on analytics, financial modeling, and strategic analyses. Synthesize insights and data from across the company into a single, contextualized view that provides clear, compelling recommendations that drive business impact.
• Drive operational rigor and performance management, including development and ongoing analysis of KPIs, dashboards, creating goals/OKRs, and holding the business accountable to those goals
• Create new frameworks to proactively manage the marketplace health of our nascent Experiences and Services business. Assess supply / demand balance and the performance of our new supply, with an eye towards informing our supply acquisition and retention strategy. 
• Partner in the  development of rigorous business plans and go-to-market strategy. Develop a deep understanding of what drives growth and efficiency for Airbnb’s business, and partner with the leadership team to translate insights into action
•  In partnership with key stakeholders, Identify step-change opportunities in areas of outsized impact through quantitative analysis, industry benchmarks, and competitive research

Your Expertise

• Minimum 8+ years of demonstrated relevant experience in an analytical role such as strategic finance, strategy consulting, biz ops, investment banking, data science, or business intelligence
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, engineering, statistics or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative orientation. MBA or advanced degree a plus
• Strong knowledge of SQL or some other querying language and using those tools to help synthesize complex information is a must. You must be comfortable manipulating large datasets, creating new analytical frameworks, and extracting actionable insights from that data.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives that are appropriate for consumption by the C-Suite and senior executives
• Superb financial modeling skills and extensive experience conducting quantitative and qualitative financial analysis
• Demonstrated  ability to work and influence cross-functionally. You are proactive, great at communicating with different audiences and can bring stakeholders on-board. You seek out and have a track record for driving change and impact in a fluid, unstructured working environment
• Experience in helping scale marketplace businesses from zero to one is a plus

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. While the position is Remote Eligible, you must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
