Description
PUYALLUP TRIBAL HEALTH AUTHORITY, located in Tacoma, Washington is seeking an experienced Assistant Supply Chain Manager. The Assistant Supply Chain Manager is responsible for providing support to the Supply Chain Manager and for assisting with control of all goods, purchased services, and operations for the Materials Management department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist Supply Chain Manager with implementing practical and effective policies and procedures in purchasing, inventory control, receiving and storage, logistics and supply distribution, equipment management, product recall tracking/disposition, and mailroom operations and distribution.
- Stay knowledgeable of materials management practices, regulatory guidelines, GSA and other negotiated contracts and communicate workflow improvement ideas to supervisor regularly.
- Work with supervisor to develop systems, processes and metrics to drive continuous improvement and cost effectiveness, including implementation and maintenance of electronic requisitions.
- Work with supervisor to implement and maintain centralized ordering of standard supplies to meet organizational needs, using LEAN and Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory strategies to reduce costs, increase efficiency and decrease waste by ordering/receiving supplies only as needed.
- Assist supervisor with review of daily operational supply orders for accuracy, timeliness and to ensure departmental guidelines are followed.
- Assist Supply Chain Manager with developing and managing annual operating budget and costs to stay within approved expenditures.
- Continuous weekly audit, or more frequently as needed, of medical/dental exam room supplies and other organizational materials, to determine supply levels, usage, items no longer needed and makes adjustments as required for optimal efficiency.
- Safeguards and disposes of excess equipment, supplies and waste, according to established PTHA protocols and policies and maintains accurate supporting documentation.
- Performs annual equipment inventory and accurately manages tracking database for preventive maintenance.
- Develops and maintains good vendor relationships, obtains vendor quotes, resolves discrepancies, and streamlines vendor options for the organization.
- Work with departments to maintain adequate supply levels and to identify product needs, while ensuring Federal procurement requirements are adhered to, by obtaining appropriate vendor quotes that meet the cost objectives of the organization, prior to purchase of materials.
- Review department requests for additional inventory items, prepare recommendations using LEAN methodologies and JIT practices and submit to supervisor for evaluation.
- Responds immediately to urgent requests, provides prompt and efficient customer service, assists with management of supply inventory, and effectively collaborates to resolve issues.
- Uses strong organizational and analytical skills to prioritize workload, manages multiple projects and adjusts daily routine as needed to complete tasks in a timely manner and by given deadline
- Maintains good working relationships with departments and vendors and responds immediately to urgent requests, provides prompt and efficient customer service, assists with management of supply inventory, and effectively collaborates to resolve issues.
- Assists with systems, processes and metrics to drive continuous improvement and cost effectiveness in supply chain operations and identifies and evaluates opportunities for strategic supply chain initiatives.
- Obtains necessary authorizations and follows established protocols and policies when implementing supply chain operations systems and processes.
- Places supply/equipment orders within 24 hours of receipt of purchase requisition.
- Manages and tracks supply inventory in the storeroom daily.
- Manages and tracks supply inventory at user locations at a minimum 2x daily.
- Completes receiving and stocking of supplies and inventory within 24 hours of purchasing delivery.
