The Position

The Opportunity:

 As a Production Specialist, you will support production, business, and other processes in a team-based manufacturing environment. You will perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas, including production planning and control, quality systems, manufacturing, equipment and facilities engineering, material management, and process re-engineering.

You will facilitate self-directed work teams, provide training in core skills areas to teams and peers, and interact with internal and external customers with respect to product planning, problem resolution and process improvement. You will also identify and participate in continuous improvement projects.

You should possess specialized knowledge of systems or equipment. You will apply some advanced skills to the position or specialization. You will be able to respond to customer inquiries (internal and external). You may be able to research information to follow up on any questions. 

You will also be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.  

Roles & Responsibilities: 

● Set up and operate equipment and processes in accordance with standard operating procedures and pilot protocols, as needed. 

  May coordinate production scheduling activities. 

Monitors process order reports and performs the appropriate inventory management actions needed to accurately maintain the database and production work in process.

● Administers the process for inputting, updating, and monitoring critical production data.

Investigates production issues and provides resolution. 

● Develops and manages documentation changes through the edit, review, and approval process.  

 Coordinates the process order documentation review and reconciliation process to ensure all documents are processed and filed promptly. 

● Identifies drives and implements continuous improvement activities, stressing safety, quality, quantity, and cost.  

Who you are:

High School Diploma with 3 years related experience, Associate’s degree with 1 year related experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field 

● Specialized training or certification in a particular area, system, or equipment     

Preferred Requirements: 

● Four years of related experience

● Working knowledge of highly automated processes 

● Lean Manufacturing certification or other relevant certification 

● APICS or other relevant certifications 

● Experience in a regulated environment 

● Thorough understanding of appropriate safety, health, and environmental procedures

● Competency in ERP or other Manufacturing Systems 

● Thorough understanding of the principles and applications of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 9001 

● Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

● Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated effective communication skills

● Ability to perform basic math calculations 

● Ability to apply basic Lean Manufacturing methodology
