The Growth Platform team develops event-driven architectures and event-tracking systems to enable real-time data processing, scalable operations, and agile business responses. Our infrastructure captures and analyzes user interactions instantly, allowing for dynamic personalization, rapid A/B testing, and seamless integration across our digital ecosystem. This approach not only drives revenue growth through tailored customer experiences but also enhances system resilience and operational efficiency. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to leverage our event-driven infrastructure, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve user engagement, and accelerate strategic growth initiatives while setting new industry benchmarks for data-driven innovation.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to the final stages of migration from legacy event-tracking to a modern architecture featuring RudderStack, ensuring seamless transition and improved performance
- Design and implement robust, scalable event-driven architectures using Kafka, optimizing for high throughput and reliability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain critical platform services using Ruby on Rails, Sidekiq, and Postgres
- Architect and execute milestone-based projects, setting technical strategy and driving implementation across the Events Platform
- Spearhead cross-functional initiatives, fostering strong partnerships to deliver valuable organizational capabilities
- Engage with internal engineering teams to understand their needs, empathizing with their challenges and designing solutions that enhance their productivity
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the overall growth of the engineering organization through knowledge sharing and best practices
What You Have:
- 5+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails or equivalent web framework, with a strong understanding of web application architecture
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Kafka, including design and implementation of event-driven systems
- Proficiency in working with databases (particularly Postgres) and caching solutions like Redis
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Sentry, and SumoLogic
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven track record in project planning and execution, with experience in setting architectural direction for large-scale systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex, evolving technical landscapes
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build strong partnerships across the organization
- Customer-centric mindset with a talent for understanding and empathizing with the needs of internal engineering teams.
The national cash compensation range for this role is $141,000 - $174,000 per year.
