This position serves as the Mainframe Operations Manager managing and directing the 24/7 operations of input/output Control Services, Mainframe Software Services, and Systems Operations Center. In addition, you will perform project and system management duties for mainframe hardware and software and prepare Invitation for Bid specifications and Requests for Proposal technical and service specifications. Essential Functions
- Subject to management approval, serves as the Mainframe Operations Manager for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT)
- Serves as a full-line supervisor
- Confers with DoIT leadership, DoIT G/CIO’s, auditors, DoIT managers, and staff
- Performs project and system management duties for mainframe hardware and software
- Prepares Invitation for Bid specifications and Requests for Proposal technical and service specifications
- Coordinates with DoIT’s Office of Learning and Development to assist with the planning, development, and coordination of training events, conferences, and related development programs for CTO staff
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with coursework in management information systems, data processing, telecommunications or directly related fields.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in management information systems, data processing, or telecommunications in a public or business organization.
