Position Summary:

Trend Micro is searching for a Human Resources Business Partner in Austin to join the Americas HR team, reporting to the HRBP Director of the North American technology teams. This Human Resources Business Partner will act as a trusted advisor to our high-tech client groups in Austin and across North America. The focus of this role is to assess, guide, and positively influence the business. Our HRBPs are proactive communicators and change agents, who can successfully balance employee needs with business objectives to create integrated solutions that drive our results forward. The Human Resources Business Partner role provides strategic and tactical support, management consultation, and employee relations services in the Americas Region.

What you will do:

  • Support a client group of 150-300 employees, including up to 20 managers in multiple lines of business, primarily on the engineering organization

  • Influence leaders and employees by recommending new approaches, policies and procedures to affect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and employee development

  • Work closely with fellow HRBPs and People Ops team on horizontal projects across the client groups

  • Act as the HR coach for the business leaders in your client group, including attending leadership meetings and influencing decisions for the group

  • Manage activities associated with workforce planning, performance management, learning and development, compensation, and employee relations

  • Manage employee relations issues in your client group

  • Facilitate the roll out and training of various HR and business initiatives

  • Build knowledge of local labor market trends and coach managers on competitive ways to attract and retain top talent

  • Contribute to the development and facilitation of multiple org development, compensation, and policy initiatives

The ideal candidate:

  • Is skilled in taking data points and identifying trends to help the business make workforce related decisions

  • Can manage varying viewpoints to create positive outcomes for all parties

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of combined HR Generalist and/or HR Business Partner experience

  • SHRM-CP or PHR strongly preferred

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including: Excel pivot tables and charts and creating polished PowerPoint presentations

  • Strong project management skills with an ability to move projects forward with team members from various sites and time zones

  • Experience supporting large client groups, preferably in high tech

  • Working knowledge of US HR employment law

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with business presence

  • Experience using an HRIS; Workday experience is a plus

  • Fundamental knowledge of compensation and variable pay plans

  • Demonstrated change management skills, with flexibility to juggle competing priorities

  • Demonstrates the highest level of integrity, ethics and strict confidentiality

  • As Trend Micro is a global company, HR Partners must be available for occasional off-hours virtual meetings or trainings with colleagues in other regions
