You will work with diverse, cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain core components of our systems that power various aspects of our business, from payments processing and core banking to merchant lifecycle management and internal operations. Your contributions will directly impact our merchants' success, enabling them to thrive in an increasingly competitive landscape.</p><p>As a Senior Software Engineer at Teya, you will be expected to:</p><ul><li><strong>Design, develop, and maintain clean, efficient, secure, and well-tested code</strong> to support critical business needs, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability across Teya's systems.</li><li><strong>Take ownership of features and projects</strong> throughout the full software development lifecycle, including scoping, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.</li><li><strong>Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams</strong> (including product, design, data science, security, and operations) to understand requirements, provide technical insights, and contribute to architecture discussions.</li><li><strong>Build tools and integrate systems</strong> to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and scalability of products across the business.</li><li><strong>Contribute to process improvements</strong>, focusing on continuous integration, delivery, and deployment to ensure a smooth and stable development pipeline.</li><li><strong>Participate in code reviews</strong>, share feedback constructively, and help elevate the overall quality and performance of the team’s output.</li><li><strong>Mentor and support fellow developers</strong>, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.</li><li><strong>Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies</strong> in software engineering, payments, and fintech, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation.</li><li><strong>Assist in troubleshooting complex issues</strong> related to our systems, providing timely resolutions to ensure uninterrupted service for our customers.</li><li><strong>Help define and promote best practices</strong> in software development, including code quality, testing, automation, and security.</li><li><strong>Serve as a subject matter expert</strong> in key areas, providing guidance and support to other teams.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><p><strong>Your Story</strong></p><ul><li><strong>5+ years of professional software development experience</strong>, with a solid understanding of backend systems, scalable architectures, and software design principles.</li><li><strong>Significant coding skills in at least one of the following languages: Java, Kotlin, Golang or .NET</strong>, experience with multiple languages is a plus.</li><li><strong>Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, data structures, and algorithms.</strong></li><li><strong>Proven ability to design and implement efficient, maintainable, and scalable solutions</strong> using backend technologies.</li><li><strong>Experience working with databases</strong> (relational and non-relational), including schema design, query optimization, and database integration.</li><li><strong>Experience with system design and architecture</strong>, including object-oriented design patterns, microservices architecture, and API development.</li><li><strong>Hands-on experience with version control (Git), c
