Patient Financial Counselor

The Patient Financial Counselor reviews all inpatient and outpatient accounts, gathers and verifies information related to the determination of third party/insurance information, obtains patient information as appropriate with registration/interviewing process, obtains information related to enrollment of medical assistance plans and process plans for insurance coverage. This position acts as a liaison between the revenue cycle process, patient, and discharge planning support services.
Work Schedule:
- Day shift, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with every fifth weekend.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of customer service experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare customer service experience.
- Healthcare registration experience including insurance knowledge, healthcare revenue cycle, or electronic medical record experience (e.g., Epic).
Additional Information:
This is a union 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) day shift position, located in Saint Paul, MN. The full salary range for this position is $21.00-$31.52 per hour, based on experience and internal equity. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is eligible for benefits.
