Company Description
The New York Red Bulls are one of 29 Major League Soccer (MLS) teams. RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, has competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium (SIS) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull, for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
Position Summary
The Accountant supports the business operations and finance department of the three RBNY legal entities, including Red Bull New York, Inc., Red Bull Arena, Inc. and RBNY Academy, Inc.
Job Description
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as all required vendor invoices, and document business transactions.
- Receive, reconcile, process and deposit all checks and cash from the Box Office.
- Assist the Club’s Chief Accountant with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledger liaison duties with Finance department at RBNA.
- Help resolve open payables, missing information and any other issues as needed.
- Process per diem requests and reconcile with Team Administrators on a timely basis.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Prepare the monthly commission reports for Ticket Sales, Marketing Partnerships and Youth Programs and insure timely submission for payroll.
- Administer American Express credit cards issued to RBNY employees.
- Support the preparation and production of Month-end Close and Year-end Close procedures.
- Assist in the overall Team, Stadium and Training Facility Budget preparation and management.
- Assist in the production on on-going Revised Estimates exercises, as well as the compilation, preparation and submission to Austria.
- Support the Vice President, Finance in Audit, Tax, and Regulatory Compliance including Income tax filings in coordination with RBNA Finance.
- Support the enforcement of Parent and local Internal Control procedures, rules and regulations.
- Support the management of policies and procedures for the Accounts Payables, Taulia and Concur systems.
- Support the RBNA Finance Team based out of California.
- Support the preparation and management of settlement accounting of all events held at Sports Illustrated Stadium.
- Support the management and performance of all cash reconciliations from Box Office transactions.
- Support the administration and reconciliation of all merchant accounts used in processing credit card payments.
- Support the management of Month, Quarter and Year End Close.
- Lead the administration and reconciliation of all merchant accounts used in processing credit card payments.
- Assist California with all company tax filings, tax payments and tax provisions. This includes Sales and Use Tax.
- Lead the Administration and reconciliation of all merchant accounts used in processing credit card payments.
- Key Finance Lead for the Management of the following key processes:
- American Express Credit Card Statement Reviews
- ATT Coding
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
- Experience working for a team, athletic department, or entertainment venue/event or preferable.
- Ideal candidate ought to be entrepreneurial, professional, motivated and enthusiastic.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and external communication skills; ability to maintain smooth working relationships with all internal staff and management.
- Must be detail-oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and professional manner, be well organized and able to prioritize efficiently, and have excellent oral and written skills.
- Must be proficient w/ the following computer programs: SAP, Hyperion, Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
Qualifications
