Electrical Controls Designer

Qualdoc is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Designer for one of our manufacturing clients in Ashland, Va. This employer offers competitive salaries, benefits, and time off. This position will play a key role in the design of both new and existing products. He/she will use Autocad Electrical to design electrical drawings, control systems, and schematics for heavy industrial electro-mechanical equipment. 
Starts at $30/hour, depending upon experience.
This role is open for aspiring Electrical Engineering graduates with experience handling control system projects and who have previous internships in a similar area.

Responsibilities:

• Create electrical drawings, controls systems, and schematics for heavy industrial electro-mechanical equipment using Autocad Electrical.
• Design and implement industrial motor control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Utilize knowledge of AC and DC motors, as well as Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), to optimize equipment performance.
• Adhere to National Electrical Code (NEC) and Underwriters Laboratories (UL) guidelines in all design activities.
• Provide technical support during the manufacturing process, troubleshooting electrical systems as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of design specifications, revisions, and project progress.

Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Drafting/Design, CADD, or a similar field
• Minimum of 1 years of experience creating electrical drawings and schematics using Autocad (Recent internship experience can also be accepted)
• Experience with industrial motor control systems
• Experience in manufacturing for electro-mechanical products/ equipment
• Experience with both AC and DC motors and VFD's
• Familiar with NEC and UL guidelines
