As a Pharmacy Technician, you play an essential role in keeping patients safe and comfortable throughout their outpatient experience. A caregiver in this position works varying 8hr shifts primarily, but at times 10hr shifts according to business needs. Weekend requirements average 3 -4 Saturdays per quarter which can increase based on based on business needs.

Pharmacy Operating Hours are:

  • 8am-8pm Monday – Thursday

  • 8am-6pm Fridays

  • 7:45a-4:15pm  Saturdays

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide distributive pharmacy services, assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.  

  • Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.  

  • Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.  

  • Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items.  

  • Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.  

  • Monitor and act on reorder points, restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products.  

  • Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • High school diploma or GED.  

Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application:

  • Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP).

  • It is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA)  AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy
