Job Summary:
Plans and coordinates the business needs for surgical services throughout all areas of the department. Runs daily and monthly reports for Perioperative services, completes chart reviews and reviews daily billing charges. Ensures implant charges are captured accurately, contacts vendor(s) for invoices and reviews surgeon special needs prior to procedure. Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact.
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
- Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Three years' technical experience: Preferred
- Two years experience as a supervisor or preceptor: Preferred
- Specialization in ophthalmology, ENT, endoscopy, orthopedics and plastic surgery: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates overall management of all phases of surgical service, including the efficient coordination of the surgical team, supplies, block time management, scheduling, pre-procedure testing and capital equipment planning.
- Runs daily and monthly reports for Perioperative services.
- Reviews daily billing charges and reports any incorrect charges to the department Manager. Requests any missing items numbers to ensure charges are captures within the specified timeframe.
- Reviews daily schedule and checks schedule for cancelations. Reviews and makes corrections to surgeon preference cards, ensuring the correct equipment and supplies are pulled for procedure.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
