OVERVIEW:

Welcome to Product Management at DICK’S Sporting Goods, where we specialize in delivering retail excellence along every aspect of the customer journey driven through Technology. Our mission focuses on crafting intuitive, easy-to-use products that span across our business. We are looking for a new team member who can enable connected products that inspire, innovate, and deliver elevated experiences for our customers.

This role supports our newly formed Athlete Experience initiative, focused on delivering end-to-end omni experiences purposefully designed for Athletes to strengthen their relationship with DICK’S now and in the future. More specifically, you will work within the Omni Shopping Activation Squad, an interdisciplinary team focused on enabling seamless and connected experiences across channels to equip athletes with the right gear to achieve their goals.

As a Principal Product Manager, you will lead the end-to-end experience strategy within the scope of the Omni Shopping Squad. You will take ownership of the Athlete and Teammate journeys, working closely with cross-functional partners to build experience briefs, identify connected opportunities, and work with service design and solution architecture to build the vison and blueprints for a portfolio of initiatives.

As a Principal Product Manager, you will lead the product management efforts for highly complex programs that span across multiple portfolios and/or products. In this role, you enable the delivery of product experiences rooted in human-centered principles that support program-level strategic priorities. As a product leader, you provide direct oversight in the organization and delivery of high-quality products within specific product teams. Focus areas may include:

Organizational Alignment & Agility
As a Principal Product Manager, negotiation and cross-functional alignment with technology and business leadership is essential for the success of the work. As such, you will manage ceremonies and build/update tools to ensure key members of the organization are informed, aligned and can drive decisions on priorities and investments. As part of this effort, you will discuss necessary resource needs (or constraints), agree on the cross-functional roadmap, and determine the strategic partnerships needed to enable successful teams.

Prioritization, Planning & Execution
This role enables cross-functional teams to deliver against integrated roadmaps and sets of outcomes aligned to an enterprise strategy or program. You will work with teammates across technology and the business on a consistent basis to drive alignment and execution on priorities, setting targets for progress and managing risk across the work.

Leadership
As an Individual Contributor, you will fulfill a pivotal leadership role within the organization by bringing cross-functional teams together across technology and business to deliver highly visible, critical, and complex work. You will facilitate the execution of work through complex journeys – including partnership with product teams, program and portfolio management, stakeholders, technology partners and third parties.

Feedback
As a member of the leadership team, it is essential to provide the appropriate forums to seek feedback and understanding amongst your teams, stakeholders, and leadership to aggregate and activate this feedback in meaningful ways. When conflict arises, it is critical to resolve quickly to keep the work on track.
