Ellison 10 is a thirty-six bed adult in-patient Cardiac Stepdown unit (SDU) which accommodates intermediate level of cardiac care. Patients on this unit are complex cardiac and medical patients. The population includes cardiac arrhythmia patients requiring medical management, heart failure patients awaiting transplant and requiring intensive monitoring and coronary artery disease patients.
Schedule:
-Days (7am-7pm) - Nights (7pm-7am)
-Mandatory holiday shifts schedule.

Essential Functions<br>-Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested.
-Completes all documentation in the medical record as required.
-Interacts with patients and their families effectively.
-Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks.
-This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed and feeding them.
-Assists with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one.
-Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.
Qualifications
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only preferred Experience Patient Care Experience 0-1 year preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Understands his/her role in relation to providing patient care activities. - Understands hospital, division and unit policies and procedures and utilizes these in providing care. - Communicates effectively with the staff and all members of interdisciplinary health care team. - Communicates effectively with patients/significant others in providing patient care.
