Sr. Scientist/Scientist II (formulation/delivery systems)

The Opportunity:
The scientist II position will support development of saRNA encapsulation methods. The scope will include support of process and product development activities and the execution of developmental stability studies and support of platform development.
The Role:
Execute downstream steps such as lipid nanoparticle encapsulation, TFF and absolute filtration
Perform intermediate testing to understand process performance and product quality
Record and summarize data
Work with the in vitro transcription, formulation and drug product teams
Interact with research and analytical teams
Perform tasks under limited supervision
Work with junior team members, serve as mentor
Provide support on reviewing documentation in notebooks, present data in group meetings
Ensure all experimental procedures and documentation are compliant with highest quality and regulatory standards.
Partner with diverse team members from various functions, countries and members at various levels in the organization.
Function effectively as core team member.
Interface with electronic business systems (e.g, LIMS, SAP, EDMS)
Serves as interface between BPD and Operations, and represents BPD department in cross-functional forums to support manufacturing and QC
Use scientific and statistical knowledge to support product, process development and process deviation investigations
Generates a supportive business case, and supports cross-functional teams to deliver those opportunities
Complete individual training and maintains a state of compliance
Adhere to all safety requirements
Support communication/updates as required
Your skills and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree and 6-8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 5-6 years of experience or a Ph.D. with 3-4 yrs. experience in related scientific field.
Candidates with more experience are encouraged to app
Requires conceptual knowledge of encapsulation techniques and filtration
Experience with nucleic acid synthesis and separation methods is highly desired
Experience and knowledge of LNP and nucleic acid detection and quantitation is desired
Provides technical advice on issues within own discipline
Demonstrated competencies in ethics and values, integrity and trust, decision quality, functional/technical skills, peer relationships, perseverance and problem solving
Experience in biopharmaceutical process development is desirable
Effective delivery of objectives in a complex matrix environment
