Position Description: 

The Sr Finance Analyst plays a key role in providing financial analysis of manufacturing costs with the goal of proactively influencing business decisions.  

  • Gathers and interprets data to deliver actionable insights while considering a broad range of interdependent issues.  

  • Collaborates effectively across a range of finance teams (e.g. Division Finance, T&P, Factory, and Supply Chain Finance teams) and cross-functional teams (internal manufacturing, contract manufacturing, TAG/R&D, procurement, etc.).   

  • Acts as a change agent to drive process improvements and the development of reporting tools as business needs evolve. 

  • Has a solid understanding of financial data and ensures the integrity of financial reporting in a fast-paced dynamic environment.  

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Prepares reporting and analysis of variable and fixed manufacturing costs (COGS, Fixed Factory Overhead, Depreciation, Transfer Prices, etc.) through monthly period end closes, quarterly forecasting, and annual budgeting.  

  • Partners cross-functionally to drive budget ownership and increase financial acumen throughout the organization, using tools such as Budget vs Actuals variance analysis. 

  • Runs financials analyses on projects to optimize cost savings or minimize cost aggravations.   

  • Participates/leads ad hoc projects on process improvements, reporting standardization, and strengthening of internal controls.  

 

Skills: 

  • Exhibits solid understanding of P&L concepts and accounting principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of results  

  • Synthesizes information from disparate sources to deliver comprehensive and actionable insights 

  • Demonstrates critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills 

  • Partners and communicates effectively across functions and with upper levels of management 

  • Self-starter, inquisitive and makes process improvement recommendations 

  • Balances pressures and demands of multiple customers and competing priorities  

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint 

  • SAP or other ERP system experience and knowledge 

 

Requirements:  

  • BA/BS with Major/Minor in Accounting or Finance, or BA/BS Degrees with coursework up to and including Intermediate Accounting 

  • Minimum of 4 years related work experience in Accounting/Finance 

  • Preferred: 1-3 years working in a manufacturing environment
