Global Transportation Excellence Manager

Job Purpose:

The Transportation Excellence Manager will spearhead initiatives in contract management, standardize key performance indicators (KPIs), and devise mid to long-term global transportation strategies. This role is crucial in leveraging global insights to enhance operational efficiency across both international and national transportation networks.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Transportation Planning:

   - Develop and execute comprehensive transportation strategies that are in line with corporate objectives and the latest supply chain trends. Continuously refine processes to elevate service standards, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.

2. Global Efficiency Optimization:

   - Lead the development and implementation of a lean global logistics efficiency program aimed at refining transportation and distribution practices. Establish procedures that not only improve service levels but also ensure cost efficiency.

3. Sourcing and Contract Management:

   - Set procurement standards collaboratively while managing all aspects of contract negotiation and administration with global shipping entities. Regularly review market trends and develop strategies to mitigate risks and maintain competitive advantage.

4. Digital Transformation in Transportation:

   - Design and implement a 3-5 year strategic plan for transportation technology to improve management capabilities. This includes collaborating closely with IT to integrate cutting-edge technologies.

5. Performance Metrics and Accountability:

   - Establish and monitor relevant KPIs, including both internal and external benchmarking, to maintain compliance and operational effectiveness across varying market conditions. Utilize data insights to drive continuous improvement.

6. Global Perspective and Governance:

   - Keep a comprehensive view of global transportation operations, adapting strategies to align with market trends, regulatory changes, and corporate governance.

Requirements:

   - Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferred.

   - Experience: At least 7 years in international transportation management or related fields, with preferred experience in a TMS environment.

   - Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities, strategic planning, and the capability to implement plans through influential leadership rather than direct control.

   - Languages: Fluent English required; additional languages beneficial.

   - Technical Tools: Proficient in PowerBI, Microsoft Office Suite; TMS experience strongly preferred.

   - Leadership Qualities: Proven ability to manage and motivate teams, innovate, and efficiently allocate resources.
