Are you passionate about safeguarding the environment and ensuring the reliable operation of critical pipeline systems? As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will play a vital role in maintaining all electrical components of our pipelines. This position offers the opportunity to provide expert technical support and help build a culture focused on reliability, effective maintenance, and mechanical integrity within our area maintenance teams.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist area maintenance I&E teams with reliability and maintenance issues on PLCs, VFDs, motor control centers, switchgears, instrumentation, valve actuators, electrical contractors, petroleum quality and measurement equipment, motors, substation and other electrical equipment.

  • Collaborate with the area maintenance teams, LP Engineering group, Maintenance Advisory Team, ESAT, and consulting I&E reliability SMEs to identify and resolve recurring I&E reliability issues.

  • Lead and champion the implementation of preventive and predictive maintenance best practices such as non-destructive testing, infrared, motor analysis, etc.

  • Collaborate with the Region Training Coordinator to identify and coordinate electrical technical training for electrical maintenance personnel. 

  • Collaborate with Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to resolve multi-discipline reliability issues.

  • Collaborate with the Reliability Engineer on RCA’s, FMEA’s, and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Review equipment installations and commissioning acceptance.

  • Liaison with the MAT (Maintenance Advisory Team) as required, participate in Region mini-MAT Meetings.

  • Participate in JPS & ESAT as the Region electrical representative.

  • Drives job plan, engineering standards, and equipment specification improvements when identified.

  • Participate as an electrical SME in project design review meetings, PHA meetings, and Hazop meetings.

  • Support Regional communication equipment.  Work with TIS and networking on issues, coordinating installs, upgrades, or decommissioning throughout the SW Region. 

  • Perform emergency response duties.

  • Complete all mandatory safety training, and technical training.

  • Complete all required OQ training and certifications.

  • Communicate with and maintain a positive working relationship with area maintenance teams, Region Engineering, LP Operations Engineering group, Operations personnel, and other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Identifying and implementing efficiency and cost reduction opportunities and measures

  • Performing or providing technical support for installation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of instrument and electronic equipment for terminal and pipeline facilities in accordance with company policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Supporting the development of technicians through formal / informal training and coaching

  • Ensuring standardization across the Region on instrumentation, electrical and technology

  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with applicable DOT, EPA, National Electrical Code (NEC), State and OSHA regulations, and health, safety and environmental policies and procedures

  • Assisting with the review of Risk Register items to identify improvement opportunities and ensure timely closeout

Who You Are:

You have the following education and experience:

  • Completion of an approved electrical apprenticeship program or 2 year electrical technical/vocational degree with 7 or more years of applicable electrical experience or 10 plus years of previous field operations experience (or equivalent mix of formal education and experience) or 10-15 years of applicable electrical specialty experience in a leadership role.

  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Strong electrical maintenance skills and experience.

  • Strong background in preventive and predictive maintenance technologies such as non-destructive testing, motor megging, infrared analysis, motor testing analysis, High Voltage maintenance and troubleshooting, etc.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
