Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Sr. Java/SQL Developer to join our innovative software development team of qualified, diverse individuals. The ideal candidate will research, design, implement and manage software programs as well as testing and evaluating new programs. This role is pivotal in driving our efforts in one or more phases of software systems development, systems integration, or network engineering critical to the USPS mission.
This role is 100% Remote.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Resolve problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements. Writing and implementing efficient code.
- Develop quality assurance procedures and deploy software tools, processes and metrics.
- Works closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts. Acts as team leader on projects.
- Participates in development of software user manuals. Instructs, assigns, directs, and checks the work of other software developers on development team.
- Consults with engineering staff to evaluate software-hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years’ experience or High School diploma/equivalent with 9+ years’ experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- U.S Citizenship or Green Card holder.
- Residing in the U.S for the past five years with no more than 6 months travel outside the U.S. during this time frame.
- Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members)
- 5+ years’ experience with Java/JavaScript, SQL, HTML and CSS.
- Knowledge of Spring Framework and basic LINUX.
- Experience with SQL Developer/SQL Plus, PuTTY, WinSCP, WebSphere, Subversion.
- Experience with Cloud Platform development.
- Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka.
- Working knowledge of control-M jobs, POB system, AFT system and Microservices design.
- Skilled in: DevSecOps, Secure Coding practices and Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab).
Perferred Qualifications:
- Functional Knowledge in one of more of the following:
- Agile Methodologies.
- Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices.
- Change Management and Configuration Management (VersionOne, ServiceNow, etc.)
- Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
- API Tools, working, and best practices.
- Performance tuning.

Target Salary Range
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.Apply for this role
