WHAT YOU’LL DO
In October 2026, Teach For America will convene ~10,000 alumni, corps members, staff, students and partners to rally our community around the need and possibility for bold, systems-change and community-level progress and to inspire each other to lead in new ways - together - in order to achieve it. The 35th Anniversary Summit will serve as a catalyst for a new era of our work, one with an increased priority on working within diverse, community-led coalitions in order to ensure vastly improved outcomes for children in communities across the country. It will particularly recognize the importance of sustaining ourselves in this hard work over the long haul through a focus on connection, inspiration and learning.
This role plays a critical function in ensuring that there is alumni engagement and activation leading up to the 35th Anniversary Summit. From developing and implementing alumni engagement strategies, to maintaining consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders, to building a structure that fosters ownership and investment among team members, you will help lay the foundation for a successful and inspiring event. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Vice President, 35th Anniversary Summit, and partner with leaders across the organization including Executive Directors and their respective regional teams.
Together, you will plan and execute this pivotal moment in our organization’s history. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with a diverse network of leading thinkers, researchers, and experts, both within and beyond our community. Ultimately, you will help shape an event that sets a new course for our future. The goal: to ensure that approximately 10,000 members of our community leave the Summit feeling a renewed sense of hope and urgency in pursuit of One Day—and inspired to think and act in bold, innovative ways over the decade ahead.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
The MD, Alumni Activation & Engagement, 35AS will be responsible for:
In partnership with the Vice President, supporting effective stakeholder involvement in the planning for the 35AS, including alumni, students, corps members, organizational leaders, staff, and external constituents (10%)
Conducting research on alumni demographics, career paths, and professional networks (15%)
Analyzing alumni data to identify trends, patterns, and insights to help drive decision making (10%)
Working with Executive Directors and regional teams to create and implement successful regional mapping plans to ensure alumni activation and engagement across the country around the 35AS (35%)
Devising and launching virtual alumni engagement plan to support 35AS attendance (20%)
Support Development team members in coordinated gift solicitations strategies and sponsorship activities (10%)
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Over the course of any week, the MD, Alumni Activation & Engagement, 35th Anniversary Summit will spend time:
Supporting Executive Directors in alumni activation planning
Hosting virtual engagements with alumni
Co-planning regional alumni convenings
Running and analyzing alumni data reports
Convening alumni around 35AS programming
Developing a strong relationship with key partners to ensure an excellent 35AS experience
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
MUST HAVES: Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role (minimum qualifications):
Bachelor’s Degree
Exceptional project management skills, with the demonstrated ability to achieve ambitious goals in the context of complex, multi-layered projects
Entrepreneurial and self-starter mindset
Strong communication and relationship-building skills, including an ability to invest, influence and align senior leaders and stakeholders with diverse interests and ideas
