Position Overview

The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is pleased to announce an opening for a Clinical Nurse Manager for the Chicago-Read Mental Health Center located in Chicago, Illinois. The Chicago-Read Mental Health Center is seeking to hire an energetic and detailed-oriented licensed Registered Nurse to direct and oversee para-professional, professional and non-professional nursing personnel on an assigned program unit, assuring that general health and nursing care needs are met for the patients on the program unit. Chicago-Read Mental Health Center strives to provide equitable access to social/human services, supports, programs and resources to enhance the lives of all who we serve.

Essential Functions

• Serves as Clinical Nurse Manager.
• Serves as full-line supervisor.
• Participates in developing Nursing Care policies and procedures and monitors their implementation.
• Participates in reviewing aggregate data collection to meet the Joint Commission and CMS standards of compliance.
• Participates in hospital-wide committees to improve quality of patient care.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four (4) years of college with course work in nursing.
• Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible professional nursing experience in a public or business organization.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three (3) years of professional experience supervising professional nursing staff. 
• Three (3) years of professional experience meeting deadlines with strong attention to detail and the ability to utilize cr
