Job Description
Our Global Architecture & Urbanism Division combines the expertise of IBI’s Buildings and Placemaking practice, our Places’ capabilities, and CRTKL’s multi-sector design leadership to offer a diverse range of solutions focusing on human-centric design, sustainability, and technology.
The educational facilities practice in the Pacific Northwest is a significant part of Arcadis’ USA western regional practice. Our education facilities practice is one of the best in the nation and recognized internationally for design and thought leadership in school architecture. This is an opportunity to lead the expansion of our group into community college and higher education work. Thought leadership, design excellence, team building and staff mentorship are all qualities needed for this position- The successful candidate will be: goal-oriented, collaborative, innovative, self-motivated and have a proven ability to lead others in exemplary team-initiatives. He or she will identify project opportunities, improve process and effectiveness, and provide project oversight while ensuring design excellence, technical quality and financial performance. An understanding of corporate financial planning, analysis and reporting will be an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Business Development and Marketing initiatives, including coordinating the preparation of pursuits, teaming and resource-sharing.
- Work closely with office leadership in Portland and Seattle to manage a seamless, coordinated educational practice in Southern California.
- Expand and strengthen the education practice in the Pacific Northwest. Mentor identified staff in the two offices. Build collaboration across the Region and the Firm.
- Oversee project development, including design and construction document preparation.
- Organize and lead project teams.
- Develop and implement strategic plan and market plan for the Pacific Northwest area.
- Monitor profit and loss at the project, office and Pacific Northwest level.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Possess a professional degree in Architecture from an accredited University program.
- Licensed to practice Architecture in the Oregon or Washington.
- Additional certification, such as LEED is a bonus.
- 15+ years of increasingly responsible project leadership experience in Architecture.
- Visionary with in-depth knowledge of educational architecture and an understanding of current trends in the marketplace.
- Strong and proven ability to lead and coordinate Business Development and Marketing efforts.
- Sound knowledge of good business practices and the metrics of financial performance.
- Strategic thinking and pro-active planning to help position the firm for upcoming opportunities.
- Well connected in the market place with clients, consultants, approval agencies and collaborators.
- Strong team leadership and communications skills--both written and oral.
- Proven interpersonal, cooperative and collaborative skills.
- Proficient in the application of computer software, including Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT will be an asset.
