Principal Product Definition Analyst (Nevio)

Airline business is going through a complete retailing transformation to address expectations customers
are now used to in retail: workflow efficiency and control, price transparency, social networks interactions, personalization, etc…

In this context, Amadeus launched Nevio program, the future of the PSS (formerly known as Next-Gen Altéa, Nevio) to deliver the true value of this
transformation. And our group, ORR-OST-OMS, is in charge of building Order Management System (OMS) which is an essential module of Nevio.

About the role

Joining Order Management System team, you will be working in an agile team that is designing, developing, validating, and maintaining the brand new core components of the Order Management System, with notably:

• Core order system to manage orders data and life cycle, storage, fulfillment

• Integration of the order suite in airline UI

• Interactions with other suites needed throughout the handling of our orders: offer suite, revenue accounting, payment, operations, etc.

• Interactions with the current passenger handling system (a.k.a. Smart Bridge) to leverage all capabilities today’s system has for a seamless transition while offering new capabilities via the Order Management System

• Animate and coordinate a Product Definition Community in the Order Management System teams

• Build good practices and ensure they are shared and followed

Common accountabilities:

• Proficient in technical knowledge to ensure team performs at a high level. Is recognized as a leader in own area and may formally train Specialists/Senior Specialists. ​

• Understands how main business drivers may impact on own area. Can assess complex problems with broad impact on the activity, improve processes, recommend solutions and risk mitigation plans. Able to communicate complex information.​

• Works with a high level of autonomy, based on management directions. Leads projects or contributes to broad cross-functional projects. May contribute to planning of resources and budget.

Specific accountabilities:

Technical/Functional Excellence

• Demonstrates excellence & establish standards on product definition activities: specifications, solution design, finding solutions to complex problems

• Responsible for planning, conducting and directing the analysis of highly complex business problems

• Supports Pre-Sales teams, participates in Business Requirement Matrix (BRM) assessment

• Supports Solution Definition Managers on cross-area solution design for complex scenario (including architecture proposal for new products) by being the functional entry point for a given area

• Creates and implements internal and/or external customer feedback mechanisms

• Solves business problems through a clear methodology including appropriate documentation

• For complex/cross-functional solutions, proposes and/or review sizing for their area

• Reviews proposed specifications for complex solutions

• Reviews or advise test strategy/plan

• Creates process engineering and/or business flow assessments to ensure appropriate reengineering of solutions

• In case of system failure, proposes a recovery plan, an action plan and a risk mitigation plan and provides recommendations for improvement (application…)

• Ensures processes are followed : state of requirement , Project Change Proposal (PCP) process , High-Level Architecture design, R&D project follow up from requirements to production

Continuous Improvement

• Makes recommendations on how to revamp documentations, to make them complete and accurate

• Recommends process improvements for specs, docs, solution design, proactive maintenance, etc.

Building relations & Knowledge sharing

• Contributes actively to the PDA community or any other relevant community which is related to current position such as Maintenance one

• Coaches / mentors team members on product definition skills, drives the culture change towards professionalization

• Provides guidance/direction/training and mentor less experienced product definition analysts, QA Engineers and software development engineers

• Actively participates in the construction/maintenance/application of the on-boarding of new colleagues

• Provides consultancy to users in detailed functionalities

• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as excellent listening skills, to serve as lead conduit between
