<p>The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a <strong>professional, dependable, and mission-driven Duty Driver</strong>. If you enjoy helping others, driving safely, and being part of a team that truly makes a difference in the community, this is the job for you.</p>
<p>As a Duty Driver, you will transport beneficiaries and staff, support daily program operations, and represent The Salvation Army with courtesy and professionalism. This position plays a vital role in the success of our rehabilitation program.</p>
<h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2>
<h3><strong>Transportation & Delivery</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Safely transport beneficiaries to and from their work therapy assignments</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Transport Salvation Army staff for official business</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Deliver inter-office mail, packages, and other assigned items</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Follow daily route plans and adjust as needed</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Communicate pick-up or delivery issues promptly to supervisor/dispatcher</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Vehicle Safety & Maintenance</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Complete daily vehicle inspections (oil, water, air, tires, etc.)</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ensure vehicle safety, cleanliness, and security at all times</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Load and unload items during deliveries</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Secure the vehicle at the end of each shift</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Report all accidents or damage immediately</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Professionalism & Representation</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Serve as a courteous and respectful representative of The Salvation Army</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Maintain required appearance standards (clean clothing, neat grooming, shirt tucked in)</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Treat all passengers with dignity and respect</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Uphold and support the mission and values of The Salvation Army</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>Qualifications</strong></h2>
<h3><strong>Education & Experience</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Minimum <strong>2 years of licensed driving experience</strong></p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Willing to complete required courses, including “Coaching the Experienced Driver”</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Must pass The Salvation Army Road Test</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Licensing Requirements</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Valid driver’s license appropriate for agency vehicle types</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Clean MVR / acceptable driving record</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Skills & Abilities</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Ability to follow written and verbal directions</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Clear, professional communication with passengers and coworkers</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Basic math skills (distance, weight, volume)</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ability to organize efficient routes</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Familiarity with two-way radio equipment</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h2><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Ability to lift/move <strong>up to 50 lbs regularly</strong>, <strong>up to 100 lbs frequently</strong></p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Occasional lifting/moving of <strong>over 100 lbs</strong></p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Frequent standing, walking, reaching, and bending</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Must wear back guard when performing lifting tasks</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ability to work in warehouse and outdoor environments with variable temperatures</p>
</li>
