Accounts Payable Specialist ( Temp to Hire)

Position Summary:

This position requires the employee to research and resolve discrepancies to ensure invoices are processed and
paid timely and accurately. Must be able to effectively communicate with colleagues and superiors regarding
those discrepancies and issues. Must be a team player.

Essential Job Functions:

• Guide, teach, & mentor the accounts payable staff
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies pertaining to inventory and non-inventory purchase orders
• Work directly with the Supervisors to address concerns and discrepancies
• Processing wire/electronic payments on the banking websites
• Analyze multiple GL accounts and processes to identify ways to be more efficient
• Perform monthly closing procedures
• Run weekly reports
• Prepare journal entries
• Audit and post PO and Non-PO invoices
• Communicate with Transportation, Customer Service, Inventory, Purchasing, and other departments to resolve
  issues
• Effectively and positively communicate with colleagues and vendors
• Special projects as assigned
  
  

Position Requirements:

• 3 - 4 years of Accounting experience (Accounting courses +)
• Lead/mentoring experience
• SAP experience is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word (vlookups, pivot tables)
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Good written and verbal communication
• Must be proactive and have a strong sense of urgency
• Must be a team player and able to work with other individuals outside the department
• Must be able to meet deadlines and prioritize accordingly
• Willingness to perform other departmental or cross-departmental duties as required
• Superior attention to detail

Base pay range $28.00 per hour
