Purpose/Introduction

Chevron Phillips Chemical is seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler for the Golden Triangle Polymers facility, a greenfield project, in Orange, TX that will be operated by Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP. This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your experience and be part of a team contributing to the build, startup, and operation of a brand-new petrochemical facility. The successful applicant will be assigned to the project location in Orange, TX and will be a permanent member of the maintenance team upon project completion.

During the project phase, this position will be heavily involved in the development of SAP master data, maintenance plans, task lists, bills of material, and Operations Maintenance Work Process. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will work closely with the ITPM/SAP Coordinator, Maintenance Supervisors, Equipment Reliability Engineers, Operations team members, and peers to ensure the prescribed maintenance work is accurately planned and scheduled to meet safety goals, equipment availability, equipment reliability, and cost objectives. Following startup, the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler role will transition to a traditional role characterized by normal facility operations.

Responsibilities

  • Advocate for safety as demonstrated by proactive involvement in company safety process and adoption of core operating values.
  • Apply CPChem Tenets of Operations and Operational Excellence requirements.
  • Analyze the physical job to be performed and determine the most safe, efficient, and effective way to accomplish the task.
  • Utilize field inspections and P&IDs to ensure inclusion of required crafts and accuracy of job work packages.
  • Using SAP & Prometheus tools, develop maintenance job plans, schedules, and estimates that include internal maintenance resources, external contract services, tools & equipment, materials, drawings, and procedures required to safely execute and successfully complete work orders.
  • Maintain accurate bill of materials and maintenance plans in SAP.
  • Utilize planner feedback forms to create, maintain, and document work histories and other technical files to incorporate lessons learned into job plans as a form of continuous improvement.
  • Proactively work with peers to improve the site Operations Maintenance Work Process.
  • Assist with determination of warehouse stock requirements and recommended inventory levels, including identifying critical spares.

Skills / Abilities

  • Proficiency in SAP PM and MM modules.
  • Working knowledge of Meridium.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to excel in a team environment.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Minimum of ten (10) years either instrumentation, electrical, mechanical maintenance experience as either a craftsperson, supervisor, or planner in manufacturing within the petrochemical, refining industry, or related industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous SAP planning or scheduling experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Planning/Scheduling experience in Primavera and Prometheus.
  • Formalized (classroom or applicable certification) training as a Planner/Scheduler.
