Albany ENT & Allergy Services is seeking a full-time Audiology Receptionist to join the team. This position will work with a reception team to ensure an efficient and pleasant patient experience. The receptionist is responsible for supporting Audiology and ENT department in checking out patients daily, with the goal of getting patients into their appointment as quickly as possible, collecting all payments owed from Audiology, as well as ensuring the patient is equipped with all necessary follow up items after their appointment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greeting patients pleasantly.
- Registers insurance and confirms eligibility in EHR.
- Communicates with patients regarding outstanding balances and attempts to collect at the time of check-in/out for Audiology and ENT
- Checks patients out which includes scheduling follow-up appointments, scheduling testing, printing PT and x-ray scripts to be given to the patient, tasking medical records for finalized office notes if needed to send MRI, ensuring all orders from the visit have been placed and sent to the patient coordinators, completing the more detailed Audiology appointments and completion of all necessary tasks related to the appointment.
- Assisting with various administrative duties pertaining to patient workflow, insurances, demographic information, etc.
- Maintains and secures touchpads.
- Scanning documents related to the office visit.
- Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in a medical office preferred.
- Proficient computer skills including the ability to effectively comprehend software related to their role.
- Critical thinking skills, a positive attitude, and consistent professional conduct.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required as well as interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
COMPENSATION: The compensation range for this position is $18 to $21. Actual compensation within that range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, education, experience, and qualifications.
