The Online Executive Director of Advising (OEDA) is responsible for successful online Student Advising, including student experience & satisfaction, student outcomes, and ensuring all departments are working in concert to expand the reach and achievement of the mission through enrollment growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages performance of online Student Advising and supporting staff.
  • Ensures goals are achieved.
  • Maintains regular communication with all other online managers.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships and regular communication with shared central services to achieve online goals.
  • Assist the VP in the development and implementation of the online strategy, including, but not limited to, partnerships, referrals, online reputation (e.g. Google Reviews), and relationships with business, community, or governmental organizations.
  • Responsibility for all online Student Advising reports including, but not limited to, reports related to retention, enrollment, activity, oversight/compliance, and surveys.
  • Leads the regular online Student Advising team meetings.
  • Participates in the regular all-online team meetings.
  • Supports the team effort for online and University effectiveness and dedication to the continuous improvement process.
  • Participates in department and University in-service meetings.
  • Is involved in the University’s planning and growth by serving on special task forces, HLC committees, and other developmental committees.
  • Provides constructive input to assist the University in decision-making and growth.
  • Implements and supports policy and procedural changes.
  • Maintains a professional image, attitude and work area.
  • Remains current in field through professional development such as:  workshops, conferences, and/or course work.
  • Participate as part of the leadership team to make market and operational decisions to ensure a successful student enrollment effort.
  • Support and contribute towards the University’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Act as a role model and ambassador regarding standards of conduct and core values of the department and University.

Per the US Department of Education Program Integrity Rules, postsecondary institutions that participate in the student financial assistance programs pursuant to Title IV of the Higher Education Act (HEA) are barred from providing incentive payments to any person or entity engaged in student recruiting and/or admissions activities.

Reporting Relationship:

The OEDA reports directly to the VP of Online (VP), as part of the University’s Operations organizational structure, led by the Chief Operating Officer (COO). The OEDA has direct management responsibilities for online Student Advising staff.

Position Requirements:

  • Accomplished leader with a minimum of 5 years of high-level management experience and a proven track record of success.
  • Enrollment management skills required (Preferred experience in higher education Student Advising or Admissions management)
  • A history of managing a fully remote work force is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in hiring and building a successful team in a virtual workspace.
  • Clear understanding of and willingness to champion the University’s mission, vision, and commitment to a student-centered culture with a priority on access, opportunity, and outcomes.
